The Sun’s Sanskranti also occurs in other Rashis, as do other planets,.As per Shree Mad Bhagvat Geeta (A-8-24):- The day time starts increasing when sun goes towards North and this is for six months, |
|
|
| |
| which is A day for Devas (Gods). The light during this period remains for long time and sight, so this Sun’s Sankranti is considered auspicious and meritorious. The great saint Jaimini also said that pre-and-post Sankranti period of 12 hours and 48 minutes is considered very sacred. During this time span one can get ANANT PUNYA (merits) by donating cow, edible food, money, cloths to the poor and feeding grass to cow. Devotees feed cows (from grass mela organized in temple campus on this day ) and perform Gaupooja on this day to get entry in the Great GOLOK and to cross the river VAITERNY(GARUD-PURAN). | Stories related to ADHIKMAS : |
| |
| 1. one can get Moksha even in Kaliyug, if he listen to the divine Lila of Purushottam Narayan ; said Rishi Sut purani to the Rishis Asit , Angira , Vamdevand others gathered at Naimisharanya. As Rishis listen to Lila in this month, so it is also known as Purushottam Mas. |
| |
| 2. MAL MAS : Since Sun does not enter in any Rashis during this month and no auspicious rituals are performed , so people consider it as waste month. Getting this blot , the Adhik mas was grieved and went to Lord Vishnu in Vaikunth taking the form of a human and started very hard and sincere prayers. Lord Vishnu blessed him and took him to Golok which is difficult even for Yogies also ;where Purushottam Lord Krishna perform Lila with Gopisand govals. This Golok is supreme among other three Lokas. Its Area is three carores Yojan and spherical in shape Only Vaishanavas are living there. Below GOLOK left side is the great SHIVLOK and right is VAIKUTH. Malmas got the Darshan of Lord SHRI KRISHNA; in turn Shri Krishna blessed him with boon and assure Vishnu for the uplifting of Malmas by giving his name Purushottam and equal status. Hence froth this month is known as Purushottammas. Those who perform Gaupooja or Gaudan or becomes the devotee of this month , directly get entry in Golok. Purushottam mas provides good health, wealth, childless to child even Moksha from cycle of rebirth . Lord Krishna will forgive all the sins of those who perform, Pooja, Vrat, Dan or other penance in this month The merit of Vrat in this month is greater than hundreds of Yagna. |
